Why is it that all other coffees can be easily accessible, freshly ground, and practically available instantly, while there is no similar method for Turkish coffee?”

The answers we received pointed to the traditions and rituals associated with Turkish coffee. However, we believed that the Turkish coffee experience was lacking in terms of technology. Until now, research and development related to Turkish coffee had been focused on small household appliances and dated back to the past 20 years. Meanwhile, the advancements made for coffee machines brewing Espresso and Americano drinks traced back to the past 50-60 years.

In 2014, we established Atölye Mekatronik ve Danışmanlık A.Ş. to redesign the Turkish coffee preparation processes in line with today’s needs and bring it together with technology. Our team consisted of engineers who were passionate about Turkish coffee, each with 10-15 years of experience in their respective fields and devoted to developing domestic technology developed the commercial prototype of Köpüklü after a 5-year R&D effort. Our young engineer friends, who took over the baton, prepared Köpüklü for mass production with tremendous determination and belief, and launched its commercial operations. Our goal is to carry Turkish coffee “from tradition to the future, from its homeland to the whole world.”
